JOB TITE: T
RANSMISSION LINES COMMISSIONING ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality installation of line equipment and accessories at site. Supervise cable installation activities, including cable laying, jointing, and terminations and OHL installation.
  • Witness Site Tests as per procedure and approve site test reports including High voltage and Partial discharge test. Issue site note for non conformities noticed and follow up for clearance. Issue safe

inspections and provide report.

  • Verify method statement. Outage work as applicable. Maintain / review marked up drawings. Prepare and issue commissioning clearance on completion of all pre-requisites.
  • Verification of documents (O&M manual, as-built drawing) and handing over of energized lines as per SLAs.
  • Ensure control of quality documents for lines commissioning activities. Ensure implementation of departmental quality procedures and adherence to SLA requirements. Support implementation of PMI standards in managing projects/program as per TL&C scope of work.
  • Provide technical support and supervision to contractors and site teams during the installation and commissioning phases. Prepare detailed reports on project status, issues, and completion for senior management and clients.
  • Monitor staff's productivity & lost time at site & developing a system to improve the productivity & to reduce the lost time for site activities.
  • Asset Knowledge management during site Installation , Testing & Commissioning stages of Asset life cycle.
  • Responsible for continuously innovating and fulfilling the requirements of driving the Corporate Excellence. Facilitating, transferring and sharing knowledge with colleagues and subordinates.
  • Ensure non-disclosure of confidential information to anyone within or outside the Authority, during or after employment in DEWA.
  • Follow and adhere to the OH&S Management System Manual as per DEWA's safety standards.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the reporting manager.

Education & Experience
Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Experience/Qualification

  • Minimum 6 years experience for Bachelors degree holder
  • Minimum 8 years experience for Diploma holder
  • Problem solving skills
  • Knowledge about relevant IEC, BS , IEEE standards, computer applications etc.
  • Specialization - EHV Cables or Over Head Lines (as applicable)
  • Proficiency in technical report writing
  • Driving License
