General Overview:

We are supporting a leading organization in the UAE to hire an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager who will oversee and strengthen the company's risk, governance, and regulatory compliance frameworks. This role is responsible for ensuring the organization complies with UAE laws and regulations, proactively managing risks, and embedding a strong culture of compliance across the business.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in risk management, compliance oversight, regulatory frameworks, and cross-functional collaboration within the UAE market.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Oversight
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable UAE laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for regulatory matters, audits, inspections, and external stakeholders.
Risk Management:
  • Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate financial, operational, regulatory, reputational, and compliance risks.
  • Develop and implement risk management frameworks, tools, and internal controls.
  • Conduct risk assessments for new products, services, and initiatives.
  • Lead internal investigations into compliance breaches or risk incidents.
  • Continuously monitor internal and external risk factors, including regulatory updates and market trends.
Compliance Governance:
  • Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct internal reviews to ensure adherence to compliance standards and internal controls.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to integrate risk considerations into decision-making.
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and governance bodies when required.
Reporting & Documentation:
  • Prepare timely reports for senior management and governance committees on risk and compliance matters.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of risk assessments, mitigation plans, incident reports, and regulatory correspondence.
  • Ensure timely submission of regulatory reporting required under UAE law.
Training & Awareness:
  • Lead training programs to promote risk awareness and compliance culture across all departments.
  • Guide teams in understanding and managing risks within their areas of responsibility.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Review and enhance risk and compliance frameworks to align with best practices.
  • Stay updated on emerging risks, regulatory developments, and industry standards.
Key Requirements:
  • University degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in financial services, risk management, or related fields (OR) Diploma with 10 years' experience in relevant fields.
  • Professional certifications preferred (depending on focus area):
  • Compliance: ICA Advanced Certificates, ACAMS, AML certifications
  • Risk: FRM, CIA, CMA, or other recognized risk qualifications
  • Strong understanding of UAE regulations and compliance frameworks.
  • Proven track record in managing risk and compliance functions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and strong ethical standards.
