About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Breakfast Restaurant in Dubai, the Waiter is responsible to provide exceptional guests' dining experience. The role includes taking order, serving food and beverages, while making sure that every aspect of the dining experience meets our standards. Waiter reports to the F&B Supervisor.
As a Waiter, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the restaurant menu, ingredients, and preparation methods to confidently inform and assist guests.
- Accurately take and deliver food and beverage orders, ensuring prompt service and attention to dietary needs or special requests.
- Provide personalised, attentive service throughout the dining experience to ensure guest satisfaction and uphold brand standards.
- Operate POS systems efficiently for order processing and follow billing and cashiering procedures accurately.
- Set and clear tables to maintain a clean, welcoming dining space, and manage multiple tables while maintaining service quality.
- Support upselling efforts, collaborate across outlets, and create memorable guest experiences aligned with MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences.
As a Waiter, we expect from you:
- High school qualification preferred; degree or diploma in Hospitality, Hotel, or Business Management is an advantage.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a waiter/waitress, preferably in high-volume or luxury dining environments.
- Familiarity with fine dining and casual service standards, as well as restaurant POS and cashiering systems.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages such as Arabic are preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain service flow in a fast-paced setting.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
