Job Description – Maintenance Helper

Position: Maintenance Helper

Department: Maintenance & Site Operations

Reports To: Site Supervisor / Maintenance Technician / Operations Partner

Location: Abu Dhabi (various project sites)

We offer starting salary of 1600 for helpers with additional accomodation or accomodation allowance, the exact amount will be based on your experience.

1. Position Summary

The Maintenance Helper supports technicians in daily maintenance, repair, and renovation tasks. This role assists with carrying materials, basic labour work, site preparation, cleaning, and helping skilled workers such as electricians, plumbers, painters, and masons. The helper ensures smooth workflow and maintains site safety and cleanliness.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Site Support

  • Assist maintenance technicians in performing routine repairs and installation works.
  • Carry tools, materials, and equipment to and from the worksite.
  • Help prepare work areas by moving furniture, covering surfaces, and arranging tools.
  • Support in dismantling, demolition, and minor civil work as instructed.
  • Perform basic tasks such as sanding, cleaning surfaces, applying primer, mixing materials, etc.

B. Maintenance Assistance

  • Help technicians with:
  • Electrical works (pulling wires, fixing conduits, holding fixtures)
  • Plumbing works (cutting pipes, sealing joints, cleaning drainage)
  • Painting (basic preparations, masking, cleanup)
  • AC maintenance (filter cleaning, carrying units)
  • Masonry tasks (mixing cement, assisting in tile works)

C. Site Cleanliness & Safety

  • Keep the worksite clean, organized, and free from hazards.
  • Dispose debris and waste materials properly.
  • Ensure tools and materials are stored safely.
  • Follow all safety instructions and wear PPE at all times.

D. Logistics & Material Handling

  • Receive, load, unload, and store materials.
  • Check and report if materials are damaged or missing.
  • Assist driver in transporting materials when needed.

3. Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of general maintenance tasks (training can be provided).
  • Physically fit and able to lift/handle heavy materials.
  • Ability to follow instructions carefully.
  • Good attitude, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
  • No specific qualification required (experience preferred).
