Senior Traction Power System Engineer

Lead the design and implementation of traction power systems for metro operations, including substations, rectifier-transformer units, and distribution systems such as overhead catenary or third rail

Perform system studies including load flow, short circuit, and harmonic analysis to ensure optimal performance and reliability

Coordinate with rail systems, civil, operations, and other engineering disciplines to deliver fully integrated power solutions

Assess existing systems and recommend upgrades to support increased capacity, improved headways, and enhanced energy efficiency

Ensure compliance with international standards such as IEC and IEEE and all applicable local regulatory requirements

Oversee testing, validation, and commissioning activities including SCADA integration and performance tuning

Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams

Monitor industry developments and apply innovative technologies to improve resilience and sustainability of traction power systems

Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and system performance

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution

Minimum of 10 years of experience in traction power systems for rail or metro projects

Proven experience on large rail infrastructure programs in a consultancy or client-facing role

Strong proficiency in engineering design and analysis tools and software

Solid knowledge of international standards and best practices for metro traction power systems

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

GCC experience is preferred
