About the Role

The Senior Drilling Engineer will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of drilling operations, ensuring efficiency and safety. We are looking for candidates who have over five years of experience as a
Senior Drilling Engineer
specifically in the
Abu Dhabi offshore field.

Note:
It is a office based job.

1. Plan and Schedule for drilling campaign

  • Lead and contribute to the drilling engineering of short/long term plans and schedules to ensure the technical requirement with overall company goal.
  • Prepare the well AFE and get approval from management.
  • Assess material requirement for drilling campaign and allocation of materials including enough back up items.

2. Adherence to Policies, Processes and Procedures

  • Implement drilling operations following the ADNOC HSE Standards and Drilling COP (Code of Practice), approved drilling guidelines and procedures for applying drilling planning and execution.

3. Drilling Engineering and Operation

  • Lead on coordinating with other disciplines in TED and service providers to plan and propose the drilling program/instruction within approved budgets and time frames.
  • Provide drilling expertise and lead communication with all the concerned parties related to drilling engineering and operation.
  • Ensure that drilling operations are performed in accordance with the set drilling programs, standard policies & procedures.
  • Review drilling rig and other equipment specifications to ensure the adequate well design.
  • Monitor and analyze the drilling activities and the performance to enhance the operation efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed reports on well performance including analysis of any operational issues, downtime, deviation and lesson learnt.
  • Provide logistics support during drilling operation coordinating with logistics team and service providers.

4. Risk Assessment

  • Conduct risk assessment and develop contingency plans to address potential operational hazards and mitigations.

5. Technical expertise and Coaching

  • Extend training and technical support to junior engineers to ensure continuous adherence to regional and global standards, practices and procedures.
  • Identifying, evaluating and proposing appropriate new drilling related technologies.

6. Health, Safety and Environment

  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and industry regulations to prevent any accidents and environmental damage collaborating with HSE members.
  • Maintain compliance with local, national and international environmental standards including well control and waste management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Valid IWCF certification Level 4 or equivalent.

Experience Requirements:

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning, execution and exposure to drilling engineering and operation with at least 1 year of cumulative experience on a rig site for Oil & Gas field.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role, demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Landmark software (COMPASS, WELLCAT, WELLPLAN, etc.).
