The Role

As
Legal Counsel
, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the company's legal and regulatory framework as it continues to scale across the UAE and wider MENA region. You'll provide expert legal advice across commercial, regulatory, and product areas — helping the business launch compliant financial products while managing risk in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise leadership and business teams on
    UAE and international fintech regulations
    , including Central Bank and DFSA frameworks.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate
    commercial contracts
    , including technology, vendor, partnership, and investor agreements.
  • Support
    licensing, regulatory filings
    , and engagement with relevant authorities.
  • Collaborate with product and compliance teams to ensure
    KYC/AML
    ,
    data privacy
    , and
    consumer protection
    compliance.
  • Review and maintain
    Terms of Service
    ,
    Privacy Policies
    , and other customer-facing legal documents.
  • Provide legal input for
    fundraising, corporate governance, and board matters
    .
  • Manage external counsel and oversee
    dispute resolution
    when needed.

About You

  • Law degree
    from a recognized institution; admission to practice in a common law jurisdiction preferred.
  • 2+ years
    of post-qualification experience, ideally within fintech, banking, or a top-tier law firm.
  • Strong understanding of
    financial services regulation
    ,
    commercial law
    , and
    data protection
    (GDPR, DIFC, or ADGM experience a plus).
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to balance legal risk and business opportunity.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
