Electrical Inspector

The Site Electrical Inspector will assist the Electrical Engineer in Electrical Works and will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations and equipment on site comply with the relevant Project specifications, standards/regulations, Shop drawing and Method of Construction/Installation. He will inspect and test electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify and address any issues or faults.

**What You’ll Be Doing**:

- Assist the Electrical Engineer in performing the contractual duties on site.
- Assist the Electrical Engineer in reviewing the Material Submittals, Shop Drawings and As-built drawings to verify that all works are done as per the authorities and project specification.
- Well versed in Authority Regulations and Specifications.
- Ensure performance of the work in strict accordance with the plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with the Contractor’s Foreman in charge of the work on a daily basis to advice on the proper execution of the work.
- Be fair and firm in dealing with the Contractor. Consider alternatives and consequences carefully before making decisions.
- Issue instructions to the Foreman in Charge of the work and do not argue with the Contractor or his representatives.
- Oversee and inspect all electrical & instrumentation work and ensure that installation activities comply with contractual obligations and quality control standards.
- Verifies that only approved materials are incorporated in the work.
- Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the Contract.
- Follow-up with the Contractor and support in coordinating with the utility authority regarding connections whenever required.
- Receive material inspection requests (MIR) from Contractor, inspect electrical & instrumentation materials delivered at site and report on quantity and technical compliance and sign off requests.
- Attend to WIRs submitted by the Contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
- Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the Contract.
- Provide technical guidance to lower-level inspectors.
- Follow-up with the Contractor and support in coordinating with the utility authority regarding connections whenever required.
- Prepare/complete the necessary documentation prior to inspection of the works and process accordingly following completion of the inspection.
- Inspect the installation works of all electrical & instrumentation items/systems as per approved Shop Drawings.
- Keep, monitor, and follow up as necessary and maintain complete record(s) concerting the execution of the works.
- Ensure that safety critical aspects of the project are identified and actively addressed.
- Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for the construction supervision and monitors it for improvement.
- Ensure site progress information is communicated regularly.
- Coordinate the works to ensure successful hand-over of the project.

**What Required Skills You’ll Bring**:

- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in electrical engineering or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience as an electrical inspector in a consultancy or engineering environment for Infrastructural Projects
- Familiarity with electrical systems and equipment, including power, lighting, low voltage, and other electrical systems in Abu Dhabi local authority.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with inspection and testing plans and procedures
