**Responsibilities**

**System Administration**: Manage and maintain Solaris operating systems, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrading of Solaris environments on Oracle SPARC hardware.
**Linux Administration**: Provide support for Linux systems, including Oracle Linux, Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu, with a focus on system performance, stability, and security.
Hardware Management: Administer and optimize Oracle SPARC hardware, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of SPARC systems.
**Security Management**: Implement and maintain security best practices across Solaris and Linux environments, including managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
**Backup and Recovery**: Develop and manage backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability. Perform regular system backups and data recovery tests.
Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor system performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal performance of Solaris and Linux systems.
**Automation and Scripting**: Develop and maintain scripts for system administration tasks, automating repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
**Incident Management**: Respond to and resolve incidents related to Solaris and Linux systems in a timely manner, providing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
**Documentation**: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
**Training and Support**: Provide training and support to junior system administrators and other IT staff as needed.

**Qualifications**

**Education**: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
**Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Solaris administration with hands-on experience managing Oracle SPARC hardware. At least 3 years of experience in Linux system administration.

**Technical Skills**:
Proficiency in Solaris operating systems and Oracle SPARC hardware.
Strong knowledge of Linux systems, including Oracle Linux, Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu.
Experience with virtualization technologies, such as Oracle VM for SPARC (LDOMs).
Familiarity with storage systems and SAN/NAS technologies.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configurations.
Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.

**Working Conditions**:
May require on-call support and occasional after-hours work.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting and installing hardware.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

**Certifications**:
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) for Solaris is preferred.
Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) is a plus.

Pay: AED1.00 - AED2.00 per month
