Associate Compliance Counsel

Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in private law (contractual law) or equivalent practical experience. - Qualified attorney, with experience in private practice and/or in an in-house team. - Legal experience with MENA laws, IP, IT, TMT, data protection, and in drafting and establishing agreements for technology and media clients. Preferred qualifications: - Knowledge and understanding of basic finance concepts. - Excellent people and communication skills, and ethical judgment. - Teaching and presentation skills. - Passionate about ethics and compliance. - Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. **About the job**: Google is an ambitious company. We provide those answers by working at the crossroads of the law and new technology, helping Google build innovative and important products for users around the world. **Responsibilities**: - Localize global compliance policies and create Regional-specific policies where appropriate. - Provide local law expertise on topics such as confidentiality, conflicts, anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, privacy and data protection, use of company assets, insider trading and compliance-related areas, and retain local outside counsel where appropriate. - Provide frequent and effective in-person training on our code of conduct and our compliance policies, including new employee orientation training. - Assist headquarters Compliance team in rolling out online training and be responsible for ensuring that the online training is applicable and appropriate for the Region. - Perform periodic risk-assessments for the Region, and inform headquarters of state of compliance in the Region.
