Training Instructor

**Role and Responsibilities** **About the role**: We are looking for experienced former Naval Operations Officer who has served onboard modern midsized or larger naval warships, to join our Instructor team where you will be responsible for the design, delivery and execution of a variety of training in our naval simulators, working alongside UAE Navy Officers and other expatriate Instructors. This role is based at the Naval Doctrine and Combat Training Centre (NDCTC) for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Navy as the first element of a distributed and networked naval training system. The UAE NDCTC is located in Taweelah with future plans to connect to other distributed sites. The purpose-built NDCTC facility features a range of integrated ship simulation-based training suites, as well as maritime aircraft sensor stations to enable individual, team, whole-ship, and collective/ joint mission training. **Responsibilities will include**: - Assisting in the design, planning, accreditation, and execution of all individual training within the Operations Specialisations, in line with UAE Systems Approach to Training (SAT). - Assessing and reporting on individual, team, and unit performance (if appropriate) in the conduct of relevant specialist training - Knowledge transfer (train the trainer) - Coordinator of collective training events, e.g. Flotilla or task group exercises, which includes preparation, briefing, debriefing and post-processing/follow-up - Scenario development and maintenance of the scenario library - Presenter / Moderator of Tactical Floor exercises - Exercise Controller or role player in support of Command Team & course training in Tactical simulators. - Assisting with the development of training references and courses for new navigation systems. - Supervising UAE instructor training and maintaining the currency of instructor knowledge and qualifications. **Personal Attributes**: Aside from excellent knowledge/experience in his professional field, the Navy and training in general, key personal attributes will include: - Maturity, honesty, patience, persistence, and a good sense of humour. - Personable nature, though of very high personal and professional standards - Ability to work with mínimal direction, to maintain a focus on the aim and to adapt a plan when it appears not to be working - An excellent ability to forge relationships across all ranks and within a complex - cross-cultural environment - Astute and perceptive communicator - Physically fit and of sound military bearing - Understanding of and interest in Arabic culture and sensitivity to the Muslim - environment **Qualifications**: **Essential** - Principal Warfare Officer/Senior Operations - Rank / NCO (or equivalents) - Fluent English (Speaking and writing **Desirable** - Understanding and familiarity with SAT - Colloquial Arabic **Experience** **Essential** - Recent experience in modern warships (FS/FF/DD/CV) - Computer literate (standard IT hard-/software: PC, - MS Windows, MS Office) **Desirable** - Command experience - Sea Training Staff Searider - Minimum 2 years instructional experience as a - instructor at a Naval / Sea Training Establishment - Recent experience in the Middle East **Position Type** Regular CAE thanks all applicants for their interest.
