Fitout Estimator

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Prepare Cost Estimates**: Review project drawings, specifications, and client requirements to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for fitout projects, considering labor, materials, and equipment costs.
- **Tendering and Bidding**: Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and quotations for clients, ensuring alignment with the client’s specifications and project budget.
- **Site Visits and Assessments**: Conduct site visits to assess project requirements, verify quantities, evaluate site conditions, and identify any potential issues or risks that could affect cost or timeline.
- **Material and Subcontractor Sourcing**: Source and evaluate materials, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain the best pricing, while ensuring quality and compliance with project standards.
- **Cost Control & Monitoring**: Track project costs, identifying any discrepancies between the estimated and actual costs. Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and manage the financial aspects of the project.
- **Collaboration with Project Team**: Work closely with project managers, designers, and site teams to ensure that the fitout projects are delivered within budget, on time, and to the client’s specifications.
- **Risk Management**: Identify potential risks early in the project and work with the team to mitigate them, ensuring the project stays within budget and scope.
- **Client Interaction**: Maintain strong communication with clients, providing them with regular updates, responding to queries, and helping resolve any issues that may arise.
- **Document Preparation**: Create detailed cost reports, estimates, and tender documents. Ensure that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with company and industry standards.
- **Project Cost Analysis**: Provide post-project cost analysis and reviews, highlighting areas where cost efficiency could be improved for future projects.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: 4 to 5 years of experience as a Fitout Estimator or in a similar role within the construction, fitout, or interior design industry.
- **Education**: A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- **Technical Expertise**: Strong knowledge of building codes, construction processes, and fitout-specific requirements.
- **Estimating Software**: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar) and advanced skills in Excel.
- **Project Management Tools**: Familiarity with project management software and tools for cost tracking and reporting.
- **Attention to Detail**: Ability to review technical drawings, contracts, and specifications thoroughly to ensure accuracy in all estimates.
- **Communication**: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain cost estimates and project requirements to clients, subcontractors, and the project team.
- **Time Management**: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously.
- **Problem Solving**: Analytical and critical thinking abilities to resolve estimating discrepancies and project challenges.

**Desirable Attributes**:

- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and green construction standards.
- Experience in both commercial and residential fitout projects.
- Ability to manage the estimating process for multiple projects concurrently, with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of local construction regulations and building codes.

**Experience**:

- Fitout Estimator: 4 years (preferred)
