**Job Description: Radiation Protection Officer**

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Radiation Protection Officer to join our team for a prestigious project in a nuclear power plant located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). As a Radiation Protection Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of all personnel working in radiation-controlled areas and implementing radiation protection programs in accordance with local regulations and international standards. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment and preventing potential radiation hazards within the nuclear power plant.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Radiation Safety Compliance:

- Develop and implement radiation protection programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with local regulatory requirements and international standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with radiation safety guidelines and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
- Monitor and assess radiation levels in various areas of the nuclear power plant to identify potential hazards and implement necessary controls.

**2. Radiation Monitoring and Control**:

- Perform regular inspections and audits of radiation-controlled areas to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct routine radiation measurements and surveys using appropriate detection instruments and equipment.
- Analyze and interpret radiation monitoring data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.

**3. Training and Education**:

- Provide radiation safety training to employees, contractors, and visitors on safe work practices, radiation hazards, and emergency procedures.
- Promote radiation safety awareness and maintain a strong safety culture within the organization.
- Develop and deliver educational materials and presentations related to radiation safety.

**4. Incident Response and Investigation**:

- Respond to and manage radiation-related incidents and emergencies, including contamination events and abnormal radiation exposures.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Ensure timely reporting of radiation incidents and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory requirements.

**5. Quality Assurance and Documentation**:

- Establish and maintain a comprehensive radiation protection documentation system, including procedures, records, and reports.
- Review and update existing radiation protection programs and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with industry best practices.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate audits and inspections related to radiation safety.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in health physics, radiation protection, nuclear engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as a Radiation Protection Officer in a nuclear power plant or a similar high-risk environment.
- Strong knowledge of radiation protection regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Proficiency in using radiation detection instruments and equipment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with personnel at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

**Salary**: From AED4,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
