**1. DEPARTMENT PURPOSE**

The Governance Section at Fujairah International Airport supports corporate transparency, accountability, and compliance by overseeing core governance functions including company secretariat, internal audit, and legal advisory. It ensures the integrity of corporate operations, supports statutory compliance, promotes ethical standards, and facilitates the functioning of governing bodies and board-level decision-making.

**2. JOB NATURE & SCOPE**

The Legal operates under Governance Section reports directly to the Director General. The role is responsible for providing legal counsel, reviewing contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and protecting the legal interests of the organization. The Legal Advisor collaborates with internal units and external stakeholders to ensure all legal matters align with organizational policies and applicable laws. As part of the Governance Section, the role supports corporate integrity and contributes to the strategic and ethical management of legal risk.

**3. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**

3.1. Provide legal advice and interpretation of laws, regulations, and contractual obligations affecting the organization.

3.2. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, MoUs, leases, and other legal documents to safeguard the organization’s interests.

3.3. Represent the organization in legal proceedings, arbitration, and negotiations as required.

3.4. Ensure organizational compliance with UAE federal and local laws, regulations, and industry standards.

3.5. Liaise with external legal counsel, government authorities, and regulatory bodies.

3.6. Support departments in resolving legal issues and advise on mitigating legal risk.

3.7. Monitor changes in legislation that may affect the organization and communicate relevant updates.

3.8. Maintain legal records, case files, and documentation in an organized and secure manner.

3.9. Assist in developing internal policies and procedures to ensure legal alignment.

3.10. Provide legal input on strategic projects, agreements, and corporate governance initiatives.

**4. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**

The job holder will require, as a minimum

4.1. Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university; Master’s degree or legal certifications (e.g., LLM) are an advantage.

4.2. Licensed to practice law in the UAE (or equivalent jurisdictional qualifications).

4.3. 5-7 years of professional legal experience, preferably in aviation, transport, or public sector.

4.4. Strong knowledge of UAE commercial, civil, labor, and regulatory laws.

4.5. Experience in contract law, litigation, corporate governance, and legal risk management.

4.6. Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Arabic is an advantage.

4.7. High ethical standards, sound judgment, and ability to manage confidential matters.

**5. POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION**

**Reports To: Director General**

**Supports**:Legal compliance, contract review, and governance-related legal services within the Governance Section

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
