The Senior System Administrator is a pivotal role within the IT department, responsible for leading the management of the organization's IT infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of system administration, network management, and security protocols to ensure the scalability, availability, and security of all systems. The Senior System Administrator will oversee larger-scale projects, mentor a team of IT professionals, and provide strategic input on improvements to the IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Lead system and network administration teams and projects, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Design, deploy, and maintain complex IT infrastructures that support organizational needs and growth.
- Manage high-availability systems and implement disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect organizational data and systems.
- Oversee data management, including backups and system recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of critical systems to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Manage system integrations and migrations, ensuring seamless transitions and mínimal disruption to services.
- Collaborate with other departments, including network engineers and developers, to ensure effective system integration.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation and policies to support operational consistency.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting for critical issues, ensuring timely resolution and mínimal impact on operations.
- Lead IT audits and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.

Skills and Knowledge Required
- Expertise in operating systems, including Windows Server, Linux, and Unix.
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and LAN/WAN configurations.
- Advanced experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Expertise in security management, including IDS/IPS and SIEM tools.
- High-level scripting and automation skills in languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
- Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms, including AWS and Azure.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Preferred certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
