Position Overview: A General Practitioner (GP) is a medical professional who provides comprehensive healthcare services to patients of all ages, managing a variety of acute and chronic health conditions. The GP is often the first point of contact in the healthcare system and is responsible for diagnosing illnesses, treating injuries, offering preventive care, and providing patient education. GPs play a critical role in community healthcare, coordinating with specialists and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.

**Responsibilities**:
Patient Care & Consultations:
Conduct physical examinations, take detailed medical histories, and assess patients' health.

Diagnose and treat a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and other medical conditions.

Manage chronic diseases and provide ongoing care for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, etc.

Offer preventive healthcare, including vaccinations, screenings, and health counseling.

Diagnosis & Treatment:
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., blood tests, X-rays) as needed.

Prescribe and administer appropriate medications or treatments.

Refer patients to specialists when necessary, ensuring effective communication and continuity of care.

Health Promotion & Disease Prevention:
Educate patients on lifestyle changes, preventive measures, and self-care practices.

Conduct routine check-ups and monitor patient health progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.

Promote immunizations and preventative screenings based on patient age, risk factors, and health status.

Record Keeping & Compliance:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.

Adhere to legal and ethical standards in patient care, maintaining confidentiality.

Stay updated on best practices, medical advancements, and regulatory changes.

Communication & Patient Relationships:
Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, providing compassionate and personalized care.

Collaborate with nursing staff, administrative personnel, and other healthcare providers to deliver coordinated care.

Qualifications:
Education: Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or DO) from an accredited institution.

Licensing: Valid medical license to practice as a GP/family doctor in the relevant region.

Experience: Experience in general or family medicine preferred.

Skills: Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work well in a team.
