Position: Veterinary Nurse
- Animal Breeding

**Key **Accountabilities**:

- Perform a herd Walk to identify the cows in estrus, and detect the estrus of cows.
- Record the tag ids of all the cows and heifers in estrus.
- Must perform AI on animals in a timely manner to ensure they are bred during the proper heat cycle. (Early Morning/Late Evening)
- Put the cows for a vet check if in doubt before performing AI.
- Maintain proper sanitation while performing the AI.
- Keep records of all artificial insemination details such as tag id, straw of sire used.
- Responsible for maintaining the liquid nitrogen container and ensuring the recurrent filling.
- Perform the AI and deposit the semen correctly for the maximum likelihood of pregnancy.
- Perform proper animal handling techniques and monitor animals for proper health and welfare.
- Work closely with the farm vet for all the estrus synchronization programs and along with the farm supervisor to better understand the operation and its goals.

11. Carry out activities independently or with a small team.

**Qualifications**
- Experience: Prior experience in a dairy farm in carrying out AI as a breeder.
- Certification: Must be a licensed Veterinary Nurse or hold relevant certifications. (Not Mandatory)
- Compassion: Strong passion for animal care and welfare.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with team members effectively.
- Organization: Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Team Player: Capable of working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

**Minimum years of experience**: Minimum **two to three years** of experience in performing the Artificial insemination and heat detection with good track record of pregnancies
