We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Animal Trainer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. As an Assistant Animal Trainer, you will work closely with our senior trainers to provide care, training, and enrichment for a variety of animals. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of animals and contribute to their well-being and training progress.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist senior trainers in the daily care and husbandry of animals, including feeding, grooming, and cleaning enclosures.
- Support in the implementation of training programs for animals, following established protocols and techniques.
- Assist with positive reinforcement training sessions to enhance animals behavioral and cognitive skills.
- Participate in animal enrichment activities to promote physical and mental stimulation.
- Monitor animals health and well-being, reporting any concerns or observations to senior staff.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of educational demonstrations and shows for visitors.
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain a safe and clean environment for animals and guests.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with visitors, answering questions, and sharing information about the animals.
- Assist with the administration of medications and veterinary treatments under the guidance of senior staff.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of both animals and humans.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience working with animals in a zoo, wildlife park, aquarium, or similar setting is preferred.
- Passion for animal welfare and conservation, with a genuine desire to work closely with animals.
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior, training principles, and husbandry practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with colleagues and visitors.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
