Job Purpose

Responsible for media coverage of events inside and outside the University of Sharjah. Operates video cameras and DSLRs in order to use them for various media, marketing and branding activities.

Main accountabilities & expectations
- Responsible for operating a variety of technical equipment and accessories such as video cameras, DSLR cameras, audio equipment, studio lighting, studio mikes, sound equipment, etc.
- Prepare and assemble and set up equipment inside the studio and on location, and ensure creative framing and capturing action while shooting through both video camera and DSLR.
- Shoot and cover official activities of the university and other activities like conferences, student events, sports activities, cultural activities and social activities.
- Responsible for operating a variety of technical equipment and accessories such as photography cameras, DSLR cameras, studio lighting, etc.
- Ensure that technical equipment and accessories are in excellent working condition and handle all maintenance and warranty issues when required.
- Use artistic knowledge to enhance and compose photographs, as well as audio, video and photography editing software for post-production purposes.
- Ensure creative framing and capturing action while shooting through both video camera and DSLR.
- Maintain sensitive equipment such as camera body, lenses, lighting and filters.
- Use different lighting techniques and photo manipulation software to enhance the photographs to get the desired results.
- Prepare colored prints, enlargements and projection slides to be used for University publications, exhibits and displays.

Job Specific Accountabilities**Required Skills**:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
- Advanced knowledge of editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe light room, Capture One, etc.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks, and produce reports under strict guidelines.
- High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.
- Detailed knowledge of photography art and lighting.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong creative presence and artistic flair.
- Customer focus with a desire to over deliver on quality.
- Ability to stand and move around for long periods at a time.
- Flexibility and ability to function effectively as part of a team.Preferred Qualification & Experience
- Minimum of bachelor's in Photography, Fine Arts, Mass Communication, or any related discipline.
- 2-4 years of UAE experience in similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
- Priority is to UAE Nationals.
