**Role overview**:
To direct and develop the Securities Services business in the HBME Oman to achieve agreed business targets and maximise profits. The job holder needs to be seen as a leader in the market, improving our product and service delivery. To expand the Market share of HSBC Securities Services (SSV) in the HBME Oman.

The incumbent will constantly seek opportunities for innovation based on client feedback and participation in industry forums and drive change in the market in line with client demands and international best practice.

The role strives to ensure full client satisfaction and achievement of agreed service standards, maintain excellent relationship with regulators, stock exchange and market participants.

**Principal responsibilities**
- Be seen as a leader in driving change in the market in line with client needs and international best practice
- Contribute towards improvement of productivity
- To implement efficient internal processes
- To contribute to the banks' performance culture
- Think joined up, think regional and offer full support and cooperation to the regional team to promote the regional business.
- Contribute to increasing market visibility internally and externally.
- Achieve the agreed SSV AOP financial targets
- Ensure full client satisfaction and achievement of agreed service standards.
- Proactively obtain client feedback on product and services.
- Monitor productivity and service delivery of client services team and impact to clients through effective governance tools such as recording of complaints handling of the process etc.
- Review steps taken to address client feedback.
- Contribute to building staff experience and expertise. Enable and monitor staff learning.
- Audit, risk management and compliance conformity of the SSV HBME Oman unit. Manage financial and non-financial risks with the support of the second line of defense
- To maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of audit points, global/regional/local policies and procedures.
- To be alert to operational risks and losses during the execution of their day to day responsibilities. In case of becoming aware of emerging or inadequately controlled operational risk or identification of an operational risk loss, report this to relevant forums.

Requirements

**To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements**:

- In-depth knowledge of Securities markets, with 5-10 years of work experience in particular custody business.
- Ability to manage and mitigate operational risk effectively
- Knowledge of the external environment - regulatory, political, competitor and market. Ability to work with diverse, geographically dispersed teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good presentation and analytical skills with an achievement-oriented approach to business.
- Good interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Good project management ability
