School Lab Assistant

Job Summary

The School Lab Assistant provides essential support to science teachers and students by preparing materials, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring a safe and organized learning environment. This position involves collaboration with faculty, adherence to safety protocols, and assistance during laboratory sessions.

Key Responsibilities
- **Preparation of Laboratory Materials**:

- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for science experiments and practical lessons.
- Ensure all materials and reagents are available and properly labeled.
- **Maintenance of Equipment**:

- Regularly clean and maintain laboratory equipment and apparatus.
- Perform routine checks and minor repairs on laboratory equipment.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Enforce safety regulations and guidelines in the laboratory.
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of chemicals and biological specimens.
- Maintain up-to-date records of safety data sheets (SDS) for all chemicals.
- **Support During Lessons**:

- Assist teachers and students during laboratory sessions.
- Demonstrate the correct use of laboratory equipment and techniques.
- Supervise students to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Keep accurate records of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and order new supplies as needed.
- Ensure that consumables are stocked and accessible.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Maintain accurate logs of experiments and activities.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and laboratory manuals.
- Support the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a science-related field is preferred.
- **Experience**: Prior experience working in a laboratory setting is desirable.
- **Skills**:

- Strong understanding of laboratory safety and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and inventory management.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
