The **Programme Officer (contract)** role is a pivotal position in the Foundation’s programming department. Working closely with the Head of Programming and the wider programming team, and other departments including communications and operations, the **Programme Officer** will ensure the department and its workflow is meticulously organised, effectively managed and ambitiously delivered. They will be responsible for inputting and maintaining information in programme tracking documents and event management systems, supporting the Programme Managers with ensuring relevant details related to events and speakers are recorded accurately and communicated to internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner, overseeing copywriting and other content creation processes, and being a point of contact for publishers, agents, and speakers.

**Core Accountabilities**:

- Support Head of Programming and programming department in the development and delivery of Emirates Airline Festival of Literature 2025.
- Support with the development, implementation, and maintenance of programme schedules, systems, and operating procedures to ensure the effective delivery of events and initiatives, including creating and maintaining documents, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Support colleagues in programming and operations to ensure all speakers are properly briefed for participation in events, and work closely with speakers, both in the lead up to and during the Festival, to ensure the highest quality experience and hospitality is offered.
- Support colleagues in programming and communications to ensure marketing deliverables are provided in an accurate and timely manner.
- Oversee copywriting and content creation processes in both English and Arabic, including editing copy and liaising with internal and external copywriters to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Assist in communication with external stakeholders, including but not limited to booksellers and sponsors.
- Contribute to programme and event evaluation and suggest ways to improve processes to mitigate any risk or challenge for future events.
- Additional reasonable duties related to the accountabilities abovementioned and wider Foundation activities.

**Essential**:

- Fluent in both spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Experience managing multiple projects, often with competing priorities.
- Highly developed administrative skills and a systematic approach to completing tasks.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate honestly, openly, and consistently.
- Experience working with a wide variety of stakeholders and collaborators, including marketing and production professionals, and using persuasion and influence to achieve objectives.
- Knowledge of, and passion for, cultural, literary, and publishing sectors.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and online databases.

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience working in a cultural, not-for-profit environment.
- Tertiary qualification in literature, marketing, publishing, or a related field.
