BI Analyst

**Job Purpose**:
We are seeking a motivated and highly enthusiastic individual looking for an exciting chance to join FCM Travel Solutions LLC - UAE as a BI Analyst.

In this business-critical role, you will be using the latest methodologies and technology in the BI space and participate in the enhancement of a global BI solution. Using Power BI, you will be developing and designing Business Intelligence reporting based on data delivered through Hive tables and databases. You will be well versed in SQL, and experienced in scoping/designing data marts for BI consumption preferably with Power BI shared datasets and assisting with other ad-hoc reporting.

A high level of experience in transforming business requirements into reusable tabular data models is essential for success in this role. Experience as a dedicated data modeler would be highly regarded.

**The Business**:
The BI Analyst will be responsible for the reporting center of excellence across the business. Whenever someone requires data of predefined or ad-hoc reporting, BI Analyst is the go-to shop. We provide a range of financial and operational reports to all areas of the business in order for them to make informed, data-driven decisions. You will be;
- Developing and maintaining the SQL/Azure-based reporting platform
- Manage reporting and data-driven strategic analysis to help with performance tracking and support future business planning
- Managing key projects and new initiatives that the business undertakes from a strategy perspective

**Objectives**:

- Assist the business as a key player and support analytical projects to identify business opportunities and areas of improvement and translate these into propositions for data analysis
- Work closely with selling business teams to understand information requirements to ensure solutions align with business needs
- Develop and maintain the data integration process, procedures, and reporting framework.
- Ensure credibility by providing timely and accurate analyses of business performance
- Implementation of BI dashboards while ensuring the solution meets flexibility, usability, and performance requirements
- Maintain and support data analytics platforms
- Assisting with the creation and maintenance of SQL store procedures, views, and ad-hoc SQL reporting, including directly querying delta lake through HIVE and Databricks notebooks
- Develop and update technical documentation
- Partner with IT, IT key personnel, internal FCTG businesses, and external consultants to assist in the implementation & maintenance of BI solutions.
- Modeling and developing robotic processes using Microsoft Power Automate.
- Ability to create business processes and custom connectors for Microsoft Power Automate/ Flow.
- Ability to solve a problem using critical thinking, including assessment of existing processes to determine the feasibility of automation and the ability to break down business problems into logical tasks.
- Must have hands-on experience and troubleshooting knowledge in power automation.

**Key Competencies**:

- Understands complex database structures
- Proven experience as a BI Analyst and/or Developer
- Recent development experience using the latest techniques in Power BI
- Design and model data sets for flexibility, reusability, and performance
- In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing, and modern data warehousing / Lakehouse

- Develop insightful and useful reports for the business using Power BI, Power Automate, SSMS, Databricks notebooks, and MS Visual Studio
- Use SSMS, Python, Spark SQL, Data Factory, Data Bricks, and Event Hubs in the Azure stack to digest and disburse data
