Mechanical Draftsman

The Mechanical Draftsman at Eiwaa is responsible for preparing detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings, fabrication layouts and as-built documentation related to steel structures, lifting equipment, marine components and mechanical systems. The draftsman works closely with the design, fabrication and inspection teams to ensure that all drawings meet project specifications, engineering standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for:
- Steel structures, skids, lifting frames, and platforms (DNV 2.7-1, EN, ASME standards)
- Marine components and load testing setups
- Concrete integrity and NDT testing equipment layouts
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Tekla
- Convert 3D laser scanning or point cloud data (FARO Scene, Trimble RealWorks, ReCap) into CAD models and fabrication drawings
- Collaborate with engineers and inspectors to ensure drawing accuracy and compliance
- Maintain drawing records and update as-built documentation
**Qualifications**
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2-5 years of drafting experience in mechanical or structural projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Tekla, and point cloud processing tools
- Familiarity with DNV, EN, and ASME standards
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
**Preferred Skills**
- Experience with 3D laser scanning workflows
- Knowledge of fabrication and load testing procedures
- Understanding of marine or offshore structural components
