**COMPANY IN ABU DHABI IS HIRING A NEWS EDITOR**

An Editor is responsible for reading manuscripts and other forms of written content to check for errors and areas to refine the piece. Their duties include maintaining close communication with Writers, referring to style guides and client directions to improve the content, and making corrections to grammatical errors and punctuation mistakes throughout a piece of content.

**Editor Duties and Responsibilities**

Editors have wide-ranging responsibilities, but their day-to-day duties vary depending on the specific role. In general, Editors will have knowledge of one or more style guides as well as the internal style guide that their employer uses. In fact, some Editors help companies develop the rules they follow for creating content. Other important duties and responsibilities for Editors include:

- Coaching new writers and editors through the content creation process
- Meeting with other team members, including writers, senior editors, project managers and marketing directors, to create content
- Reviewing story or article ideas
- Uploading content to a management system
- Revising content

**Editor Job Responsibilities**:

- Manages a team of writers and is responsible for curating fresh, relevant, and informative content.
- Directs creation of new content and determines when and how to re-surface prior work during relevant news.
- Helps the team craft and refine ideas, cultivate sources, report, and write articles on a daily basis.
- Responsible for editing explainers written by members of the broader newsroom.
- Oversees social media, graphics, and a web production.
- Collaborates closely with the data journalists and the managing editor for investigations.
- Brainstorms new stories, series, concepts, themes, and formats as needed.
- Hires writers and contributes to building up high-quality writer pool.

**Editor Qualifications / Skills**:

- Strong editorial background and proofreading skills
- Experience adhering to editorial and technical style guides
- Oral and written communication
- Comfortable with frequent cross-functional and senior management contact
- Able to exert indirect authority to deliver results

**Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Media or related field
- 5+ years demonstrated excellence in content creation or editing, including online publishing
- Experience with HTML, XML, DITA and related content-management tools

**Salary**: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month

**Education**:

- Bachelor's (required)

**Experience**:

- NEWS EDITORIAL IN UAE: 2 years (required)

**Language**:
