**Job Summary**:
The cashier is responsible for processing customer payments, providing excellent customer service, and managing financial transactions accurately. They must maintain a clean and organized work environment, assist with product inquiries, and ensure the smooth operation of the cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Customer Service**:

- Greet customers warmly and provide assistance as needed.
- Answer any questions customers may have about products or services.
- Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- **Transaction Processing**:

- Operate cash registers, scan items, and process sales transactions accurately.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card, and digital payments.
- Provide correct change, issue receipts, and wrap or bag items as needed.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded correctly in the system.
- **Cash Handling and Accuracy**:

- Count and reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Report discrepancies and notify supervisors immediately.
- Ensure accurate cash handling, including making change and processing payments.
- **Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization**:

- Keep the cashier station tidy and organized.
- Ensure products are properly scanned and packaged.
- Restock or organize shelves and displays when needed.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work with other team members to ensure the store operates efficiently.
- Assist with stocking shelves, helping with inventory, or other tasks during slow periods.
- **Compliance**:

- Follow store policies and procedures for safety and security.
- Adhere to all cash handling and company procedures.
- Ensure all transactions are compliant with store standards and regulations.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- **High School diploma or equivalent**.
- **Previous experience** in a retail or customer service role is often preferred but not required.
- Strong **math and cash handling skills**.
- Ability to operate a **cash register or POS system**.
- **Excellent communication skills** and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to **multi-task** and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- **Attention to detail** and accuracy in handling transactions.
- Ability to **work flexible hours**, including evenings and weekends.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience with **customer service or retail sales**.
- Familiarity with **inventory management**.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
