Service Manager should be a capable leader, with the ability to organize, train and supervise personnel and responsible for optimum utilization of all resources. He must be capable to manage the entire service operation including workshop assignments, personnel, and standards of performance, safety and work output to satisfy customer’s service needs.

Principal Responsibilities:
**1.** Build and develop a strategy for service work, prepare reports and present it to the Management.

2. Supervise and control work load of service technicians and support staff across all regions.

3. Schedules service work according to priority and maintains an orderly flow of work.

4. Advises top management on necessary repair service including estimates of cost; also makes recommendations to managers/team for preventative maintenance

5. Handles all complaint problems pertaining to service and repair work.

6. Supervises the training of service technicians with in-house training programs.

7. Maintains in good condition all service tools and equipment.

8. Responsible for keeping workshop area clean.

9. Responsible for the safety of service technicians and maintaining a safe working environment in the workshop area and reporting all accidents to Human Resources Department immediately.

10. Develops service plans and motivational schemes for employees.

11. Coordinate with Sales Manager in resolving after sales issues.

12. Orders and maintains adequate supplies and parts for service department inventory.

13. Responsible for drafting and proposing department operating budget to the management.

14. Works in co-ordination with Stores, Operations, Sales, and Management.

15. Ensures warranty claims are processed and forwarded to supplier on time.
Listens to problems of service personnel and works out satisfactorily or brings problems to Management for possible solution.

16. Inspects all completed works turned in to the Service Department and make sure that the service is done according to the set standards.

17. Helps service personnel diagnose troubles if they do not know the problem or unable to find it.
Recommends new workshop equipment/ tool which will minimize costs in workshop and speed up the work.

18. Will work with the Storekeeper / Supply Chain Officer to establish a basic parts list for certain overhaul jobs.

19. Responsible for issuing purchase orders for the service department.
Make sure job tickets are properly punched in and out on time clock

20. See that job tickets are promptly charged out, both customer and internal.

21. Prepares personal/vacation/sick reports for Service Department personnel.

22. Reviews all service technicians’ time sheet reports and submits them to Human Resources in a timely manner.

23. Make sure that all technicians wear safety gadgets and have undertaken safety measures.

**Mandatory Requirements**

Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in service maintenance specialised in construction heavy machineries and equipment.

Should be a capable transformational leader and manage a team to deliver exceptional results.

Should be an expert in analysing data and representing the findings.

Should be able to prepare relevant reports
