Senior Program Manager - Payment Benchmarking

Amazon Payments operates the software platform processing 20+ payment methods/products across MENA and APAC. The MENA and APAC Payments Team is part of the larger Payments Division, encompassing product management, software development, and business/technical operations. The team manages payment business development, products, performance, and customer experience, collaborating with internal stakeholders (retail, digital businesses, Marketing, Checkout, Customer Service, Finance, Legal, Risk, etc.) and external payment partners including banks.
The role will lead strategic benchmarking programs that drive payment business growth and enhance customer experience. As a Senior Program Manager, you'll identify opportunities and drive decisions to improve payment access, affordability, affinity, and trust across multiple markets.
Ideal candidates are motivated self-starters who can work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. The successful candidate will be a quick learner who can grasp the complexities of Amazon's payment offerings and internal systems, demonstrate analytical decision-making skills, and have a proven track record of driving programs to completion. Experience in the payments or prepaid card industry is preferred.
Key job responsibilities
1. Lead complex benchmarking programs across Payments organization and broader Amazon teams
2. Drive strategic analysis of payment landscape, market trends, and competitive positioning
3. Partner with senior stakeholders to define and execute payment improvement initiatives
4. Develop and manage comprehensive benchmarking frameworks and metrics
5. Lead cross-functional teams to implement identified opportunities
6. Mentor program managers and provide thought leadership in payment benchmarking
7. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of relevant experience in program/project management
- Deep understanding of payment industry and digital payment ecosystems
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders
- Track record of driving complex programs to completion
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree required
- Payment industry experience preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree
- PMP certificate
