- Design in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is an Oil and Energy opportunity for an early‐career engineer interested in piping design, material specifications, pipe stress analysis, equipment procurement, and multidisciplinary EPC project work. McDermott International, Ltd is hiring a motivated professional to complete routine piping assignments under close supervision while developing practical knowledge of industry codes, technical calculations, vendor documentation, and project procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Perform basic piping design engineering, calculations, and analyses under close supervision. Complete routine assignments using approved engineering procedures, project specifications, and technical standards. Prepare clear and accurate design calculations, analysis notes, reports, and procedures. Organize assigned tasks to meet deadlines established by senior engineers and project leadership. Communicate technical information clearly and ask questions when requirements, assumptions, or instructions need clarification. Develop a working understanding of the project scope, specifications, schedule, deliverables, and multidisciplinary interfaces. Prepare and review material take‐offs for piping requisitions and verify quantities, material classes, dimensions, ratings, and supporting references before documents are issued. Review vendor data with guidance from experienced engineers and assist with checking supplier drawings, data sheets, certificates, calculations, and technical submissions. Develop awareness of engineering costs, man‐hours, material quantities, and procurement implications related to assigned work. Become familiar with P & IDs, line lists, equipment layouts, plot plans, piping specifications, and project design bases. Interpret process and layout information needed for piping calculations and material selection. Assist with preparing special piping item lists and associated technical data sheets. Support the development of piping material specifications and valve specifications. Learn fundamentals and applicable code requirements for pipe stress calculations. Develop practical familiarity with Caesar II and assist with simple pipe stress analysis. Support pipe wall thickness calculations using approved design criteria. Assist with calculations for reinforcement pads, trunnion supports, and related piping components. Prepare supporting information for material requisitions covering engineered piping equipment. Assist with technical queries needed to clarify incomplete project or vendor information. Contribute to Technical Bid Evaluations under the supervision of senior engineers. Support the preparation of purchase requisitions for piping materials, valves, special items, and engineered equipment. Compare vendor quotations and technical submissions against requisitions and project requirements. Record review comments and help verify that revised vendor documents address identified issues. Coordinate with engineers, design supervisors, and designers within the piping discipline. Supply accurate engineering inputs required for drawings, models, calculations, and procurement activities. Support inter‐discipline coordination with process, mechanical, structural, instrumentation, electrical, and construction teams. Maintain organized records of calculations, material take‐offs, requisitions, technical queries, vendor comments, and design inputs. Incorporate approved comments into calculations, specifications, and engineering documents. Follow company procedures for document control, technical review, quality assurance, and engineering approval. Learn the content and application of relevant international codes, standards, and project‐specific guidelines. Develop familiarity with current piping design techniques, analysis methods, and software applications. Apply Health, Safety, and Environment principles throughout engineering work. Maintain awareness of Total Quality Management and project cost requirements. Support construction sites, fabrication yards, or other engineering departments when reassigned. Assist colleagues during periods of high workload, leave, illness, or changing project priorities. Complete proper handovers when responsibilities are transferred to another engineer or department. Participate actively in technical training, mentoring, and professional development activities. Ideal ProfileBachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.0–3 years of experience in piping, mechanical, or Oil and Gas engineering. Recent graduates with relevant internships, academic projects, or engineering software exposure may be considered. Engineer in Training registration or membership in a recognized professional engineering society is preferred. Foundational knowledge of mechanical engineering and piping systems.
