Full-time Role Context The Senior Land Surveyor provides specialist surveying expertise for infrastructure and transportation projects where accurate positional, boundary, elevation, and mapping information is critical to successful design and construction delivery. The position requires a high degree of independence and professional judgment. The surveyor will interpret field information, review measurement data, research boundary evidence, verify survey accuracy, and manage digital land-information records while supporting projects involving complex site conditions and RTA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct land surveys to establish the position of natural features and constructed assets.
- Determine locations of surface, underground, and where applicable underwater features using appropriate surveying instruments.
- Operate electronic distance-measuring equipment and other professional surveying systems.
- Review field survey information covering distances, directions, angles, elevations, contours, and reference points.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of information received from survey teams.
- Analyze survey measurements before incorporation into project drawings, maps, and reports.
- Research legal records and historical information relevant to land and property boundaries.
- Examine evidence of existing or previous boundary markers and reconcile findings with available records.
- Determine boundary line locations based on survey evidence, legal documentation, and field information.
- Record survey results accurately and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
- Prepare survey plots, maps, technical records, and reports for project use.
- Manage land-information computer systems and structured survey databases.
- Store and retrieve land and survey information using approved digital systems.
- Produce plots, reports, and survey outputs from land-information platforms.
- Maintain data integrity within survey information systems.
- Identify discrepancies in field measurements or recorded data and investigate their causes.
- Apply established surveying methods to assignments involving diverse technical conditions.
- Work independently on routine survey responsibilities while using professional judgment on more complex assignments.
- Support infrastructure and transportation project teams with accurate land and positional information.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and technical teams where survey information affects design or construction decisions.
- Maintain professional survey records that can support approvals, technical reviews, and project documentation.
- Apply knowledge gained from previous RTA projects to improve compliance with project requirements.
- Support quality checks on survey outputs before formal issue.
- Maintain awareness of applicable surveying standards and transportation project requirements. Ideal Profile Candidates should bring more than 10 years of professional surveying experience, preferably within transportation, roads, infrastructure, or comparable civil engineering projects. Previous experience working on RTA projects is required. Prior RTA Approval is preferred and will provide a strong advantage for candidates supporting Dubai transportation infrastructure. The successful candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of professional land surveying practices and be comfortable working with complex measurement, boundary, elevation, and positional data.
