Our client is seeking an experienced Compliance Director to lead the compliance function within a leading investments business in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be a qualified Lawyer who has transitioned into ethics and compliance, with a strong background in asset management, sovereign wealth, or investment management.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations, including ADGM, FSRA, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
2. Develop and enforce a strong ethical culture across the organization, implementing global best practices in compliance.
3. Design, update, and enforce compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
4. Identify and mitigate compliance risks related to investment activities, fund management, and cross-border transactions.
5. Serve as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, handling inspections, filings, and reporting obligations.
6. Lead compliance training programs for employees to ensure understanding of regulatory obligations and ethical standards.
7. Oversee internal investigations related to compliance breaches, ethical violations, and regulatory matters.
8. Work closely with legal, risk, investment, and operational teams to integrate compliance into business strategies.

Requirements:

1. Qualified Lawyer with a strong legal foundation in financial services.
2. Minimum 15 years of experience in compliance, ethics, and legal roles, ideally within asset management, sovereign wealth funds, or investment management.
3. Expertise in ADGM, FSRA, UAE Central Bank regulations, and international compliance frameworks.
4. Experience managing regulatory relationships and ensuring corporate governance in a regulated financial environment.
5. Proven leadership ability to influence senior stakeholders and implement a strong compliance culture.
6. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
