Associate Professor in History

Administrative Work: Work with relevant departments to support the development and implementation of university functions, such as Student Recruitment, Admissions, Library learning resources, IT teaching technology, etc.
Coordinate teaching programs with relevant faculty staff to ensure the course complements other courses taken by students.
Represent the faculty or the department on relevant committees, task forces, and focus groups to ensure appropriate governance and progress in the university.
Policies and Procedures: Follow department policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Related Assignments: Perform other related duties or assignments as directed by the Line Manager.
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Contemporary History is mandatory (granted by Gov. body when available from home country; CNU approval is mandatory if qualification was obtained in France). Specialization in International Relations focusing on areas such as diplomatic relations, international security, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding.
Minimum Experience: 5 years teaching and research experience in the higher education sector including PhD experience.

1. University lecturing skills and knowledge.
2. Advanced mastery of innovative pedagogical skills and knowledge of university learning resources and technology including Microsoft Office programs and online platforms.
3. Individual and collective research skills and experience with a demonstrated ability to secure external research funding.
4. Planning and organizing skills.
5. Communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, with strong skills in PowerPoint.
7. Ability to work under tight timeframes without supervision.
8. Languages: English and French are mandatory; Arabic would be an added value.
