Role Overview

As an AI/ML Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing the core AI/ML solutions that power multiple startups within our portfolio. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—product managers, data engineers, designers, and domain experts—to architect, implement, and deploy machine learning models and data-driven features. This role is hands-on and requires a strong blend of technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, build, and optimize machine learning models for NLP, computer vision, time-series forecasting, or other relevant AI use cases.
2. Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of models in production.
3. Work closely with data engineers to define data requirements and ingestion strategies.
4. Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover insights, patterns, and anomalies.
5. Collaborate on data architecture and schema design to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
6. Leverage MLOps frameworks (MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow) to streamline model tracking, versioning, and deployment.
7. Evaluate and integrate AI tools (LangChain, vector databases, prompt engineering frameworks, etc.) for building advanced applications.
8. Implement CI/CD pipelines for AI models to automate testing and deployment.
9. Stay current with the latest ML/AI research, tools, and techniques—incorporate best practices into the studio's projects.
10. Prototype and experiment with new algorithms or architectures to drive continuous innovation.
11. Participate in architectural and design discussions, providing AI expertise to shape product roadmaps.
12. Collaborate with product managers and domain experts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
13. Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
14. Offer mentorship or guidance to junior data scientists or engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
15. Implement monitoring and logging solutions to track model performance, errors, and drift in production environments.
16. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to model accuracy, latency, or scalability.
17. Continuously optimize algorithms to improve accuracy, reduce inference time, and minimize resource usage.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. Ph.D. is a plus.
2. [X]+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning, data science, or related roles.
3. Proficiency in Python (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn) and familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
4. Experience with NLP, Computer Vision, Time-Series Analysis, or other specialized AI domains.
5. Comfortable with SQL/NoSQL databases; familiarity with data pipelines (Airflow, dbt, etc.).
6. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
7. Working knowledge of MLOps best practices—CI/CD for ML, automated testing, model monitoring.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to tackle ambiguous challenges.
9. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, eager to work cross-functionally and share knowledge.
10. Self-driven, curious, and eager to learn new technologies.
11. Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment, able to adapt to changing priorities.
