Responsibilities - Serve guests with an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience for all events. - Anticipate and service guests’ requirements before requests are necessary. - Serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner. - Be familiar with beverage service, including stemware used and appropriate garnishes. - Complete opening and closing side work as assigned and set all tables according to standard. - Utilize the hotel’s computer system for ringing up sales, printing checks, closing checks, and completing closing readings. - Carry trays, bus, and reset tables with linen, china, glass, and silver. - Change ashtrays, serve cigarettes, crumb tables, and offer additional beverages and cigars. - Ascertain a guest’s satisfaction and handle any problem, informing a manager how it was resolved. - Service all needs for private dining rooms or private functions. - Report any accident or guest complaint immediately, no matter how minor, to a manager. - Recognize and address potential disruptive or undesirable guests. - Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation. - Move tables and chairs. - Breakdown any buffets, displays, or side stations when needed. - Clean service area when needed. - Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management. - Ensure equipment, linen, and related inventories are well planned. - Serve a dish to guests while explaining the contents and preparation. - Provide water, bread, and butter service throughout the meal to guests. Candidate Profile - Minimum of 1 year experience or an internship in a similar capacity or in private dining or private lounge. - Worked previously in F&B service. - Ability to work under pressure. - Capacity to work long hours. - Customer care. - Multi-tasking skills. - Fluent in spoken and written English.
