As an Assistant Group Reporting Manager, you will support the Group statutory reporting consolidation process. You will get involved with the accounting of various of the group&aposs subsidiaries. You will also perform account reconciliations, financial analysis, and statutory reporting. You will use your initiative to improve processes and practices and take responsibility for the ownership of accounting activity.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage reporting period closing activities of respective holding companies/subsidiaries as per accounting policies and procedures
- Own preparation of group statutory consolidation process
- Prepare statutory financial statements underlying disclosures based on IFRS
- Draft technical accounting papers for the senior finance team
- Prepare workings for various accounting treatments as per IFRS
- Completion of statutory audits and filing of entity accounts in line with statutory deadlines and other local laws and requirements
- Coordination with auditors during statutory audits of the respective holding entities
- Oversee the assigned entities&apos day-to-day accounting processes, ensuring that proper books of accounts are maintained for effective financial control following corporate standards and statutory requirements
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of financial and accounting operations and systems, procedures and practices considering automation and improvement of business processes
- Support the FP&A and Business Partner teams in understanding consolidation reports, IFRS and other technical aspects of accounting as required
- Work closely with other members of the Finance team, such as the Business Partners and Systems Accountant, in the provision of support to business colleagues
- Assist in the development and review of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with IFRS
- Work closely with the team to achieve the overall team&aposs objectives
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
- Bachelor&aposs degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5-6 years&apos accounting and financial reporting experience in a corporate organisation, of which 3 years in the Big4 accounting firm
- Detailed understanding and application of IFRS (including newly introduced standards)
- Detailed knowledge of using Sage ERP (desirable)
- Knowledge of basic VAT concepts (desirable)
- Arabic speaker (desirable)
- Relationship building and stakeholder management ability strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possess analytical, statistical and numeracy skills including problem-solving and attention to detail
- Capable of multitasking and adhering to internal or external operational and financial deadlines
- Ability to effectively plan/manage/prioritise own workload
- Ability to support/guide and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders
