Responsibilities Main Duties: - Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed, achieving the best possible outcomes. - Work collaboratively with colleagues, planning engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements. - Communicate effectively at all levels, fostering positive relationships within the school community. - Co‑operate with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all children. - Support curriculum development and work flexibly with colleagues and support staff. Teaching and Learning: - Demonstrate a clear understanding of the curriculum. - Organize classroom resources and create displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment. - Plan, prepare, and deliver sessions that cater to the whole ability range within the class. - Use enthusiastic, imaginative teaching to motivate pupils. - Observe and assess children in line with school assessments. - Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjust environment, planning, and curriculum accordingly. - Collaborate with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists as required. Behaviour Management: - Follow the school’s behaviour policy and manage classes effectively with approaches appropriate to student needs. - Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively within the behaviour policy. - Be a positive role model and consistently demonstrate the attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils. - Promote self‑control and independence, maintaining high expectations of behaviour. - Carry out duties as directed within the school’s policy. Wider Professional Responsibilities: - Participate as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events. - Support organisation and participation in school events, outings, and activities, including weekends or evenings. - Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student achievements and wellbeing using school systems such as CPOMS. - Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school. - Run a weekly ECA each term. Assessment and Data: - Take responsibility for the progress of a class. - Meet assessment and recording requirements for student development. - Use data from assessments to influence further planning, provision, and intervention. - Provide feedback to parents and carers during Parent‑Teacher Conferences and other meetings. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in the related subject with PGCE or another teacher qualification. Minimum Experience: - 1‑2 years of teaching experience. Job Specific Knowledge and Skills: - Previous experience working with students for whom English is not the first language. - Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child. - High level of professionalism and consideration for the well‑being of children. - Recent and consistent involvement in extra‑curricular activities. - Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age, and ethnic background. - Positive and solution‑focused attitude towards work life. #J-18808-Ljbffr
