Responsibilities

- Detect and diagnose eye-related health issues such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
- Monitor and manage ongoing eye health issues through regular check-ups and follow-up appointments.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries, such as LASIK or cataract surgery.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and preventive measures to maintain good eye health.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and primary care physicians, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry practices and technologies to provide the best possible care to patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including examination results, prescriptions, and treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in optometry practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.

Minimum Requirements

- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid state license to practice optometry.
- Knowledge of ocular diseases, vision disorders, and corrective lenses.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to perform eye examinations.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
