We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Control Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the design phase of an onshore oil and gas project in the Middle East, providing critical project control expertise to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and efficient delivery of the project.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the engineering sector of oil and gas projects, with a strong background in Detailed Engineering. You will be responsible for overseeing project planning, monitoring progress, controlling costs, and supporting the coordination of project schedules, ensuring that the project adheres to its timeline, budget, and quality standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure all activities are aligned.
- Support cost control efforts by tracking and forecasting project costs, identifying variances, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented to stay within budget.
- Continuously monitor project progress against established timelines and milestones, providing regular progress reports and addressing any deviations.
- Assist in identifying potential project risks and delays, implementing mitigation strategies, and ensuring that project controls are in place to manage risks effectively.
- Collaborate with the engineering team, particularly in the Detailed Engineering phase, to ensure that design deliverables are on schedule and aligned with project requirements.
- Prepare and present timely project control reports, including schedule updates, cost performance analysis, and progress assessments, to senior management and stakeholders.
- Work closely with the project management team, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless coordination across all project functions, contributing to the successful execution of the project.
- Manage and track changes in project scope, schedule, and costs, ensuring that change orders are properly documented and reflected in the project controls systems.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor&aposs Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project control within the oil and gas sector, with a strong focus on onshore oil and gas projects.
- Proven experience in Detailed Engineering for large-scale oil and gas projects, including design, procurement, and construction phases.
- Proficient in project control software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP) and advanced knowledge of scheduling, cost management, and reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas industry standards, project management methodologies, and project lifecycle processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment and manage complex project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders, contractors, and team members.
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) or Cost Engineering (e.g., AACE) is a plus.
- Experience in Middle East-based projects is highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify and resolve project control issues.
