About the job Backend Engineer
- Statements SystemOverviewWe are looking for a Backend Engineerto join a small, focused team modernizing and maintaining our Statements System, a financial reporting application written in PHP. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with backend logic, handling data migrations, building APIs, and deploying systems to the cloud. Youll play a critical part in migrating our database from SQLite to PostgreSQL, integrating with a payments gateway, and helping transition the system to AWS.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain and extend the PHP backend of the Statements System. Lead the migration from SQLite to PostgreSQL.
Build and expose REST APIsto external services (e.g., payments gateway).
Refactor legacy code to modern, testable structure. Collaborate with DevOps to migration infrastructure to AWS.
Ensure data consistency, system stability, and performance.
