Job Summary for role of Data Processor in the Subsea Department:
The Data Processor in the Subsea Department is responsible for processing, analyzing, and managing survey and geophysical data collected during offshore and subsea operations. This role ensures that accurate, high-quality data is provided to support engineering, construction, and installation activities in EPC projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Processing & Analysis
- Process and validate raw survey data collected from subsea sensors, multibeam echo sounders, LiDAR, side-scan sonars, and other geophysical equipment.
- Perform tide, motion, and positioning corrections to ensure data accuracy.
- Apply appropriate geodetic transformations and coordinate systems.
- Work closely with offshore survey teams, hydrographic surveyors, and GIS specialists.
- Provide technical support for real-time positioning and navigation during subsea construction.
- Occasionally participate in offshore operations when required.
- Utilize specialized software such as EIVA NaviModel, Hypack, QPS Qimera, or Caris HIPS & SIPS for data processing.
- Work with GPS, USBL, LBL, and inertial navigation systems to improve data precision.
- Assist offshore teams in real-time data acquisition and troubleshooting.
- Organize and maintain databases of processed subsea survey data.
- Generate charts, maps, and visual reports using GIS and hydrographic software.
- Prepare detailed survey reports for project teams, engineers, and clients.
2. Quality Control & Assurance
- Conduct quality checks on survey and positioning data to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IHO, IMCA).
- Identify and correct data anomalies, inconsistencies, and errors.
- Ensure processed data meets project-specific accuracy requirements.
