The Site Engineer is responsible for managing and overseeing all on-site aspects of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves coordinating with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to execute construction plans, resolving technical issues, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise and manage day-to-day site activities, ensuring that work is carried out according to the approved drawings, specifications, and schedule.
• Monitor site progress and ensure that project milestones and deadlines are met.
• Coordinate with the Site Manager and Project Manager to plan and allocate resources efficiently, including labor, materials, and equipment.
• Interpret and apply construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents to guide site activities.
• Identify and resolve any technical or engineering issues that arise on-site, providing solutions to ensure uninterrupted progress.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of the project.
• Attend and contribute to site meetings, providing updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Communicate effectively with the construction team, ensuring that all site personnel are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
• Implement and enforce quality control measures on-site, ensuring that work meets the required standards and specifications.
• Conduct inspections and tests on materials and workmanship, documenting and reporting any deviations from the project specifications.
• Ensure that all construction activities comply with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on-site, ensuring that all activities are carried out in compliance with the companys HSE policies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, reporting any hazards or incidents to the Site Manager.
• Ensure that all site personnel are equipped with the necessary safety gear and are trained in safe work practices.
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, material deliveries, and equipment usage.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting any issues that may impact the project timeline or budget.
• Ensure that all project documentation, including as-built drawings and site records, is properly maintained and up-to-date.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a site engineering role within the construction industry.
• Experience working with a main contractor is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure.
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera) is an advantage.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, OSHA, NEBOSH) are advantageous.
