Job Description Camunda Workflow & Rules Developer (Healthcare Integration) Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Camunda Workflow Developer to design, implement, and maintain business process workflows and decision rules across our healthcare integration ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in BPMN, DMN, and Camunda Platform (preferably Camunda 8), along with a solid understanding of healthcare interoperability workflows such as Appointment Scheduling, Lab Orders/Results, EMR Integration, and Health Information Exchange (HIE). Key Responsibilities - Design, model, and implement BPMN workflows in Camunda for healthcare processes, including: - Appointment scheduling and cancellations - Lab order and results processing - EMRLISHIS interface flows - Patient registration, referral, and discharge processes - Implement DMN-based decision tables for business rules such as: - Validation of clinical data - Duplicate order prevention - Overbooking prevention - Eligibility and authorization checks - Integrate Camunda workflows with REST APIs, HL7 interfaces, and external systems (e.g., EMR, LIS, HIS). - Collaborate with Integration and AI teams to incorporate rule-based and AI-driven decisions into workflows. - Monitor, test, and optimize workflow execution for reliability and scalability. - Maintain version control of workflows and rules, ensuring traceability and auditability. - Provide technical documentation and user guides for business and integration teams. - Work closely with healthcare domain experts to translate operational scenarios into automated processes. Required Skills & Qualifications - 35 years of experience in workflow/BPM development (Camunda preferred). - Strong hands-on experience in: - BPMN 2.0, DMN 1.3, and Camunda Modeler - Java, Spring Boot, or Node.js for service integration - REST/SOAP APIs and JSON/XML payloads - Understanding of workflow orchestration, message correlation, and service task automation. - Experience in Camunda Cockpit/Operate, Zeebe, or Camunda Tasklist. - Familiarity with Healthcare Interoperability Standards (HL7 v2, FHIR, HIE, LIS, EMR). - Knowledge of rules engine concepts and integration (Drools, DMN, or similar). - Experience working in microservices or event-driven architecture (Kafka, Azure Event Bus, etc.). - Ability to collaborate with integration and data engineering teams. - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Nice-to-Have Skills - Exposure to Camunda 8 SaaS/Cloud or Camunda Platform 7 Enterprise. - Knowledge of process analytics (Optimize, Grafana, Prometheus). - Experience in Azure, Kubernetes, or Docker deployments. - Background in the healthcare domain (HIS/EMR/LIS systems, patient data flows). - Familiarity with workflow security and compliance (HIPAA, GDPR). Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. - Prior experience in healthcare IT or integration platforms (Rhapsody, Mirth, MuleSoft, etc.) is a strong plus.
