Summary

Uses advanced skills typically gained through a combination of training and considerable on-the-job experience to represent the quality of all products of HMH's Lifecycle Services origin. Provide technical assistance to clients and perform/oversee field installations and repairs.

Job Responsibilities

1. Typically acts as a lead, coordinating and checking the work of others but not as a supervisor.
2. Provide technical support, mentoring & training for all less experienced Service Engineers and external clients.
3. Read and understand Mechanical/Hydraulic Diagrams & General Mechanical Drawings.
4. Perform all work in accordance with HMH Lifecycle Services and client safety policies.
5. Provide installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair services in shop or field environment on HMH's Lifecycle Services equipment.
6. Coordinate with the Operations/ DLS Manager and the Service Account Manager for onsite required parts, materials, support, etc.
7. Advise client of any modifications or upgrades to HMH's Lifecycle Services equipment.
8. Supervise subcontracted personnel.
9. Participate in the Workshop and the Overhaul activities and coordinate with Overhaul Supervisor regarding workshop tasks and activities.
10. Understand key business drivers and how they impact the work of the team.
11. Allocate work and provide subject matter guidance to other team members.
12. Exercise judgment, based on previous experience, practices, and precedents, to identify and solve unique problems in the field.
13. Prepare recommended mechanical spare parts list for overhaul projects at the workshop.
14. Prepare an accurate and detailed inspection report after damage assessment and be accountable for all provided inputs in the report.
15. Report any additional scope of work or variations from standard overhaul scope of work.
16. Upload all reports, timesheets, CSFs, and expense reports to the job folder.
17. Advise client of modifications, bulletins, or upgrades to HMH's Lifecycle Services equipment.
18. Impact the effectiveness of own team and closely related teams.
19. Promote personal accountability for Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) by adhering to the principles and guidelines outlined in HMH's HSSE governing policy.
20. Document all services performed and actions carried out on service and time tickets.
21. Stay current on information contained in Product and Safety Bulletins.
22. Stay current on information with drilling procedures and ensure that all work performed is handled according to procedures and guidelines.
23. Support all the company's objectives.
24. Interact with customers and other HMH personnel in a professional manner.
25. Be guided by HMH Visions and Values in all activities.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Stop an unsafe act immediately.
2. Request needed information to perform any assigned task.
3. Advise management of any issues affecting product/service quality.

Required Qualifications

Education: BS or higher in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Two (2)+ years experience in installation, overhauling, and repair of Oil Drilling Equipment, including previous experience working on Mud Pumps and Drawworks, factory training on drilling equipment, troubleshooting, and programming. Ability to read schematic and mechanical layout drawings, knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems, basic understanding of electrical circuits and electrical schematics, and diagnose, investigate, and provide solutions to moderately complex problems related to the troubleshooting and repair of Oil Drilling Equipment or similar electrically operated equipment.

Skills and Abilities: Has a specialized level of technical skill to perform a range of tasks. Ability to read schematic and mechanical layout drawings. Ability to work for long periods and in extreme environmental conditions. Ability to communicate ideas and information effectively with others outside of own team; uses tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers. Above-average analytical skills and fault-finding ability. Competent with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.). Proficient in written and reading comprehension of English. Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team. Ability to focus on and bring to conclusion multiple tasks. Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative. Ability to pre-empt situations and react positively. Organized and methodical, high integrity, and ethical values. Ability to negotiate and communicate at all levels to coordinate tasks effectively between different Groups/Departments.
