Job Description About Wynn Al Marjan Island: On schedule to open in the United Arab Emirates in early 2027, Wynn Al Marjan Island has been created as an opulent and entertaining beachside destination for discerning guests to play and relax. Located less than 50 minutes from Dubai International Airport, this integrated resort offering 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants and lounges, a theatre, nightclub, and five‑star spa is currently under construction on a picturesque island that gracefully curves into the Arabian Gulf. About The Position Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Senior Accountant – General Ledger to join the resort’s Finance team. ResponsibilitiesLead and perform day‑to‑day general ledger accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Monitor and adhere to general ledger policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with accounting standards. Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements in compliance with IFRS and internal reporting requirements. Supervise and mentor junior general ledger team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance. Review and approve journal entries, ensuring all accounting entries are properly documented and audit ready. Oversee the timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts. Analyze accounting data and assist in preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. Prepare and review monthly accrual trackers and balance sheet schedules, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation. Resolve audit queries related to general accounts, reporting, and fixed assets in a timely manner. Oversee fixed asset records and processes, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, transfers, and periodic physical verification. Collaborate with the Manager and Assistant Manager – General Ledger, as well as other department heads, to support business objectives. Demonstrate sound business judgment, flexibility, and strong people management skills. Interact professionally with other departments, banks, and auditors, and assist in preparing various financial reporting packages. Promote a positive work environment where team members feel valued, appreciated, and safe. Foster effective two‑way and cross‑cultural communication within the team and with external stakeholders. Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct. Maintain high standards of personal grooming and professionalism. Follow health and safety standards and promote continuous improvement to prevent hazards. Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Senior Management and Executives.About YouBachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting or related field. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in general accounting. Two (2) years in a senior or supervisory level is required. Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Proficiency in MS office and other software applications; proficiency in ERP is an advantage. Attention to detail and accuracy.
