The School opened in 1991 and has undergone an extensive building programme over the past decade, which is now near completion. There is an early years’ campus for children from Nursery to Grade 1, a separate campus for Grade 2 to Grade 4 (Primary) and the Main Campus which houses separate Senior Girls and Boys Schools. There are over 200 (full-time equivalent) teaching staff supported by a dedicated technical, administrative and maintenance staff. The teaching staff, recruited both locally and overseas, are well qualified, experienced and highly motivated. The curriculum followed is largely based on that of an English National Curriculum school, while also taking into account the Islamic dimension of the school’s location and the diverse make up of the student population. The English National Curriculum has been largely adopted, but suitable modifications have been made, where necessary, based upon the professional judgments of staff. Arabic is a compulsory for all students. Outside visits and residential expeditions are integral parts of the curriculum in the Senior School.
