Job SummaryThe Jr Sous Chef is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of cooks and workers, determining food presentation, and creating decorative food displays.This role requires monitoring food quantities, informing F&B service staff of menu specials, and preparing special meals. The Jr Sous Chef will also assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.Determine food presentation and create decorative food displays to enhance the dining experience.Monitor food quantities and inform F&B service staff of menu specials to meet customer demands.Prepare special meals as required by the restaurant or special events.Assist management with hiring, training, and scheduling of employees to ensure a skilled and motivated team.Evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching to improve skills and productivity.Requirements:Excellent leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide team members.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.Strong problem-solving skills to resolve conflicts and improve processes.Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.Benefits:This role offers opportunities for career growth and development, as well as a competitive salary and benefits package.
