Field Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Field Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of field experience and with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership. He / She is responsible for solving a range of straightforward field / yard related issues and analyzing possible solutions using the company’s standard procedures and processes. Field Engineer understands key business drivers and applies the acquired knowledge to solve problems through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all work is carried out safely in compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment policies and proceduresReadiness to travel offshore for job execution, including willingness to be at onshore site as requiredRecommend changes in the technical details and drawings where these may result in safe operations and clarity on information in the installation proceduresDevelop the vessel layout and barge loadout plans for the transportation of materials, equipment and structures to offshore to facilitate safe and timely installation,Actively participate in project Constructability sessions, Readiness reviews, Hazard Identification studies or Job Safety Analysis as applicable and communicate to implement the recommendationsReview and retain project drawings and documents, report the discrepancies, errors and omissions concerning the information required to perform the work.
Ensure the work is within the capabilities of the proposed equipmentPrepare offshore installation procedures as per the Company Procedures and Processes. As a minimum, the procedure(s) will outline the following:Methods, techniques, and practices to be used to perform workThe sequences to be used to perform workInstallation aids, temporary works, and consumables required to perform the workPrepare material list covering the construction materials and project consumables and liaise with the project coordinator for the procurementIssue “Loadout Lists” applicable to the work based on the recommended practice.
Coordinate with Marine, E&M, Welding, Quality, HSES, Survey & ROV, Diving Departments and Subcontractors as per offshore scope execution requirements to ensure that necessary equipment and personnel are available and ready to be deployed for the projectWitness/inspect pre-rigging, loadouts, and sea fastening, and acknowledge the receipt of fabricated structures, line pipes, and other materials to be installed offshore. Developing checklists and inspecting loadouts as per Company ProceduresCoordinate with the Production Engineers and verify loadouts of fabricated items for the projectCoordinate with the logistics team for inputs on materials, structures, equipment loaded out for cargo movements from one location to another either by ship / barge / trucks, etc.
Liaise with the customer representative and various subcontractor representatives at the offshore site and with the Operations EngineerMonitor the progress of the work and site conditions and advise the Operations Engineer of any development that may result in changes to the project and schedule and/or execution sequenceConduct work scope presentations to offshore key personnel explaining the planning and execution of work including contractual and technical aspects of the work. Issuing field sketches, data sheets, and checklists in the field as required for information purposes to the offshore personnelParticipate in the resolution of any technical problems arising during offshore installation and assist in the formulation of corrective action requirementsPrepare Post Job completion Reports as per Company ProceduresPrepare/collate as-built documentation and records as required by contract requirements and approved project scope of workQualificationsEssential Qualifications and EducationBachelor’s Degree in Engineering3-5 years of offshore installation experienceKnowledge in Auto CAD or similar toolsAdequate knowledge of design and offshore project executionBasic knowledge in Microsoft tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. and any 3D software experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesWillingness to travel to different job sites and work in various environmental conditions as requiredAbout UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
