The school operates as one unit with Program Leaders in Mechanical, Civil and Electrical Engineering leading the Majors. The Year 1 is common to all engineering students, and a number of higher-level subjects are also shared. As such there is a high level of collaboration both in teaching and in research. The Mechatronics Engineering major sits within the Mechanical Engineering Program leader but nearly half the subjects of the courses are from the Electrical discipline.One can refer to more details about the two programs below: The School of Engineering at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is seeking qualified and motivated Adjunct Tutors to support teaching in our undergraduate engineering programs. This role involves teaching a practical subject that develops essential engineering skills for students across Mechanical, Mechatronic, Materials Engineering. Key Responsibilities Deliver lab sessions and tutorials covering standard machine tools (drill press, lathe, mill, and hand tools) Deliver content on manufacturing processes, options, limitations, and accuracy Teach sensors and instrumentation for engineering applications Lead data collection, error analysis, and data processing activities Utilize Matlab/Simulink and spreadsheet tools for engineering analysis Support students in applying concepts to real-world engineering problems Assess and provide feedback on student performance Collaborate with course coordinators to ensure learning outcomes are met Qualifications & Experience Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Materials, or a related field of Engineering (PhD desirable but not essential) Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience at undergraduate level Hands-on expertise with machining, manufacturing processes, sensors, and instrumentation Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink and spreadsheet techniques Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, student-centered environment Compensation and Benefits UOWD is the first international Australian university in the UAE, offering world-class programs in a dynamic multicultural setting. The University offers adjunct tutors at undergraduate level a compensation of AED 6000 per trimester for tutorials and AED 5000 per trimester for lab sessions. This covers teaching, grading and providing subject consultation for students.
