Marine Surveyor GAC Group, a global provider of shipping, logistics and marine services, invites applications for the Marine Surveyor role in Dubai. Job Description The Marine Surveyor will act promptly, professionally and effectively, attending to draft container/cargo/bunker surveys as well as surveys for collisions, pollution, marine incidents, and sealing/unsealing of hatch covers. The surveyor will also witness cargo samples during analysis in labs, respond to all business correspondence, maintain accurate and regular time‑sheets, coordinate with third‑party contractors, meet financial targets, provide advice to Principals/P&I Club Members, and meet with local ship owners and agents to enhance business relationships. The role contributes to department goals and targets by proactively handling claims and generating income. Key ResponsibilitiesHandle marine surveys from first notification to conclusion. Attend to surveys whenever appropriate and retain as much outsourced survey work as possible. Read and respond to all correspondence and incoming mail from Principals and P&I Club Members. Prepare clear and concise survey reports as per P&I Club requirements. Maintain accurate and regular time sheets of all work done and account for all disbursements. Liaise with third‑party contractors and use them appropriately for survey work. Achieve set financial targets every month and follow up on outstanding accounts. Conduct marketing with local ship owners and agents.RequirementsMarine Engineer with surveying and sailing experience, preferably with tanker background. Preferably hold a UAE Driving License. Good knowledge of marine practices and technical know‑how, with good local contacts with agents. Excellent English communication skills and knowledge of sub‑Asian languages. Proficient in MS Office and communication applications/software. At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role; 5 years of experience in surveying or P&I work; 3 years sailing experience as Captain.What We OfferA dynamic and supportive work environment.
