Role Description We are looking for a Structural Engineer with strong experience in steel structures who can take architectural and structural building plans and convert them into accurate 3D models of steel components . Typical scope includes access stairs, roof ladders, platforms, handrails, and other secondary steel structures . This role is hands‑on and execution‑focused. You will work directly from issued drawings and design intent to create fabrication‑ready 3D models that can be used for coordination, review, and manufacturing. Responsibilities Review architectural and structural building plans, specifications, and details Develop 3D models of steel components , including but not limited to: Roof ladders Handrails and guardrails Platforms Roof hatches Miscellaneous other steel building materials Ensure models align with: Structural requirements Applicable building codes and standards Practical fabrication and installation constraints Coordinate with internal engineering, fabrication, or project teams to resolve design questions Update models based on design revisions or feedback Prepare supporting drawings or model outputs as required (GA drawings, details, BOMs, etc.) Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering 5+ years of experience working with steel structures Proven experience creating 3D models from 2D building plans Strong understanding of: Steel sections and connections Load paths and basic structural design principles Constructability and fabrication considerations Proficiency in one or more of the following tools: SolidWorks Autodesk Advance Steel / Revit Inventor or similar steel‑capable 3D CAD software Ability to work independently and manage deliverables with minimal supervision Experience with stairs, ladders, and access systems specifically Familiarity with international codes (IBC, Eurocode, AISC, etc.) Experience producing models intended for fabrication or CNC Other Preferred Qualifications Detail‑oriented and methodical thinker Practical engineering mindset and experience (not purely academic) Comfortable working from incomplete information and asking the right questions Strong communication skills, especially when clarifying design intent #J-18808-Ljbffr
